When we featured stella soprano Dame Nellie Melba on the cover of issue 4 of Inside History we received a wonderful response. So many readers wrote to tell us the memories and stories handed down from their parents and grandparents about our first colonial-born superstar. We heard about the dad who told his kids that Melba was part of his family tree — just a tall story thought his children, until the family historian of the family found Melba on a distant branch and proved the rumour was true all along!

Our talented friends at Little Branch have created a limited edition print of Melba inspired by one of her most famous roles – Rosina in The Barber of Seville. And this issue we have five of these stunning prints (pictured below) to give away! Dreamt up and made in Australia, each one is valued at $35 and measures 300mm x 400mm. It’s wrapped and backed ready for you to frame.

For your chance to win a print, simply tell us the name of one of the operas in which Dame Nellie Melba performed during her career. Send your answer and contact details to Inside History/Little Branch giveaway, PO Box 406 Erskineville NSW 2043 or email hello@insidehistory.com.au by 30 April 2013.
